For New England Patriots fans traveling to Denver on JetBlue, they got an extra special treat that was sure to get them excited for the AFC Championship Game.
On select flights out of Boston to Denver, fans received an M&M cookie baked by Drake Maye’s wife, Ann Michael Maye. A little note was attached to each that read, “created by Ann Michael and served by JetBlue.”
Ann Michael’s baking has captured the hearts of fans everywhere as she went viral during the month of December for her “Bakemas” series in which she made a video each day leading up to Christmas, making some holiday themed treat. She has over 379,000 followers with more than six million likes across all the videos on TikTok.
And the comments from Patriots fans are what makes theses even better, with one person writing, “Drake has a big game tonight. Don’t give him too many cookies; it may upset his stomach,” while another fan wrote, “Gisele never did bakemas for us.”
And with that, Ann Michael has earned the nickname “queen of the north.”
David Andrews Was A Big Fan Of The M&M Cookie
Former Patriots center David Andrews made the trip out to Denver to support the team in the AFC Championship, and had the honor of trying one of the cookies on a JetBlue flight. He was pictured holding it up, and had a humorous response as to why the cookie was all gone before they even took off.
“Here to eat not take pictures,” he commented.
It makes sense that Andrews was a big fan of the cookie, considering Ann Michael explained during the second episode of her show, “Beyond Bakemas with Ann Michael Maye,” that the offensive lineman are the ones who benefit most from her cooking.
“The O-line is like the main recipient of my baked goods,” she said on the second episode (per ESPN). “Occasionally, they’ll write me a thank-you note: ‘Just keep feeding us. We need to protect your husband, so we need to keep on the extra weight. If you need a bodyguard, we’ll be your bodyguard.'”
Plus, according to quarterback’s coach Ashton Grant, once the container of baked goods is dropped off in the offensive line room, they don’t last long because of coach Doug Marrone.
“Drake brings them in and then drops them off into the O-line room when we’re done. Then, [assistant coach] Doug Marrone comes back with an empty [container],” Grant told ESPN.
