While Patriots followers know all about Mike and Jen, the rest of the NFL world are just starting to get to know them, now that Mike has successfully led the team to a 14-3 regular season record and the Super Bowl.

So, who is Jen Vrabel, wife of Mike Vrabel? Let’s get into her history and how these two met.

Jen Vrabel Made the First Move in Her Relationship With Mike Vrabel

So, where did Jen and Mike meet? According to a report from The Tennessean, the two met while going to college at Ohio State University. At one point while there, Jen noticed Mike in class and got his number through their professor. How wild is that? After getting to know each other, the two dated, and the two continued dating when Mike was drafted to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1997 season.

So, while Jen continued her education and Mike was in the NFL, the two continued to date. But, it didn’t take long for these two to become husband and wife. In 1998, Jen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene, and in 1999, the two got married.

Mike and Jen Vrabel Have Two Children Together

Mike and Jen have two children together, Tyler and Carter, so they juggle being parents with the NFL life. But, both are in their mid-20s at this point, so they’re all grown up.

Tyler, the older son, followed his father’s footsteps and went into football. He played on the offensive line at Boston College and was even on the Atlanta Falcons‘ practice squad for a short time. He’s never been on the Patriots’ squad, though.

Meanwhile, Carter went into baseball in college at Wabash Valley College, Volunteer State Community College and Tennessee Tech. So, both sons are athletes

Mike Missed the Birth of Their Son, Carter

During a 2018 press conference, Vrabel actually admitted missing Carter’s birth because of his job with the Patriots in 2001, noting, “I’m not proud to say this, but I’m just going to tell you about my wife. She gave birth to Carter, I missed it, I was at practice, she was in Ohio.”

He added, “He came early, he flipped, they had to take her. I showed up four hours late because I was playing football and she was having a baby.”

Jen Got Her Degree in Dental Hygiene

Jen graduated from Ohio State University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene, according to an Ohio State Buckeyes press release. After Mike left the NFL, he went back to college in 2004 to earn his bachelor’s degree in exercise science, which comes in handy as a head coach.

Mike and Jen Say Friday Nights Are Theirs

Mike and Jen enjoy their Friday evenings together, according to a 2019, that Jen did for ESPN. In the chat, she says that “Fridays are always” their nights.

“It’s fun. He’s usually home earlier, and we grab dinner,” she said at the time. “When he coached in college, he really didn’t have a night like that, so we cherish that night. It was the same when he played. Fridays were always the best. It became like a date night or family night.”
