The NFL Schedule release is almost here, which means that there are continued leaks and rumors coming out all throughout the week.
And with that, there is a new report regarding the New England Patriots‘ season opener.
Barstool’s Kirk Minihane reports that the Patriots “will open the season in Seattle.” And with that, they will be doing so on Wednesday, September 9, which would be the first regular-season game of the 2026 NFL Season.
And, it’s fitting as it will be a Super Bowl LX rematch. But this time, New England will be looking to get the win after falling to the Seahawks in February.
However, nothing is official yet, with NFL Insider Mike Garafolo saying that he is “not feeling a SB rematch so early.”
“Has long felt like Chicago to me,” he added regarding who Seattle will open the season against. “We’ll find out soon.”
The official schedule will be released on Thursday, May 14, at 8 p.m. ET.
