New York Giants fans are pumped up after the news that John Harbaugh will be the next head coach of the Big Blue franchise, and quarterback Jaxson Dart clearly shares their enthusiasm.

During a one-on-one chat with ESPN NYG reporter Jordan Raanan on January 22, Dart was asked about his expectations for the 2026 season after the hire, and his response was simple.

“Winning! Whole lot of winning,” Dart told Raanan. The 2025 first-rounder felt no need to expound upon that answer.

Dart was unable to attend Harbaugh’s introductory press conference this week, but Raanan made it clear that his absence was not a story or an issue.

“Jaxson Dart is on a family vacation celebrating his grandmother’s birthday,” the veteran beat reporter explained, after a fan questioned his whereabouts. Raanan also relayed that Dart “said they spoke several times on the phone ‘at length’ [plus] in-person during [Harbaugh’s] interview before he was hired.”

The young QB spoke highly of Harbaugh on January 22 after getting to know him throughout the past couple of weeks.

“He was just a coach who I feel like I just bought into the things that he was saying immediately, and just the way that he carries himself and can conduct himself in front of a room and his track record is incredible,” Dart expressed to Raanan. “So immediately the winning culture, the intensity, and then just the enthusiasm and love about football, that’s what he carries and brings to the team. So, just can’t wait to get started and get rolling with him.”

Feeling Is Mutual Between Giants QB Jaxson Dart & Head Coach John Harbaugh

GettyNew York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart and head coach John Harbaugh appear to have hit it off.

As much as Dart seems to like and respect Harbaugh early on in their relationship, the feeling is very clearly mutual.

“The quarterback is kind of important. That’s kind of a big deal,” Harbaugh joked during his introductory press conference. “I’m excited about Jaxson Dart. … I like the way he plays. I like his talent, skill set, all the things he’s accomplished, but more than that, I like who he is and what he’s about. To me, he’s about football.”

If there is one constant that you’re going to always get with both Dart and Harbaugh, it’s football.

Both don’t just treat the sport like some hobby, they live, eat and breathe it, and from the sound of it, neither can get enough. That’s the part of the NFL that most fans don’t see or understand.

You have to be all about football; otherwise, you’ll likely never be a champion.

The Tom Bradys and Patrick Mahomes of the sport aren’t multi-time winners by accident. Both worked tirelessly to get to each and every Super Bowl, and that obsessiveness and attention to detail stem from passion and love for the game.

Dart and Harbaugh both have that sort of football enthusiasm coursing through their veins, and perhaps this pair can lead the Giants back to the big game.

John Harbaugh Shares Good News After Giants Hire

According to Harbaugh, fans shouldn’t expect some major rebuild, and that’s likely music to the ears of Giants supporters.

The longtime Baltimore Ravens HC knows that one of the best opportunities to win a title is when your franchise quarterback is on an affordable contract. Right now, that’s Dart.

Harbaugh and general manager Joe Schoen certainly have a lot of work to do this offseason, but if they’re able to get healthy and retool this roster fast, they should be able to maximize what’s left of Dart’s rookie window.
