Ahead of the Los Angeles Rams’ matchup with the Carolina Panthers, Fox Sports featured an interview with star wide receiver Davante Adams, who didn’t hold back in taking a jab at his former team, the Jets.

Speaking about the playoffs, Adams said, “If you don’t bring your best stuff, you’re gonna be at home with the Jets,” per JetNation.

Adams has had a strong season with the Rams, leading all NFL wide receivers with 14 touchdowns, according to ESPN.

With a 12-5 record, the Rams enter the playoffs as one of the NFL’s top teams, quite a contrast to Adams’ 2024 season with the Jets, who went 5-12.

Adams didn’t waste any time poking fun at the Jets, who currently hold the NFL’s longest playoff drought at 15 consecutive seasons.

Look Back at Adams Time with Jets

In October 2024, the Las Vegas Raiders traded Adams to the Jets, setting up a reunion with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, with whom Adams had enjoyed exceptional success in Green Bay.

With Adams and Rodgers reunited, many Jets fans hoped the team would finally end its playoff drought last year, but that didn’t happen.

Though his time in New York was brief, the veteran wide receiver still put up strong numbers. In 11 games with the franchise, Adams totaled 854 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, according to StatMuse.

In the 2024 offseason the Jets had the chance of potentially brining back Rodgers, as the veteran quarterback was open to a return and if the Jets decided to do that, Adams might have returned as well to keep the dynamic duo together.

The Jets obviously chose not to reunite with Rodgers or Adams in the offseason, a decision that may have backfired. Rodgers led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 10-7 record and an AFC North title, while Adams was one of the league’s top receivers and a key contributor to the Rams’ 12-5 season.

Meanwhile, the Jets finished 3-14, in what was arguably one of the worst seasons in franchise history.

The Jets Have Been Taking Shots Lately

Adams’ jab at the Jets isn’t the only recent criticism the team has faced. For example, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith shared his thoughts on the franchise during First Take.

“I’d go back to college before I play for the Jets. They are a football atrocity. They are awful,” said Smith when discussing if Oregon QB Dante Moore should return to the Ducks instead of potentially being drafted by the Jets.

The Jets haven’t been able to catch a break recently, getting called out for the obvious reasons that they have constantly failed to find any sort of success through recent years.

For the sake of Jets fans, hopefully this rebuild works, and the team won’t remain the NFL’s favorite target for jokes.
