The Seattle Seahawks blew out the New England Patriots 29 to 13 in Super Bowl 60.
Sam Darnold is one of eight former New York Jets to win the Super Bowl with the Seahawks on Sunday, February 8, 2026, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini.
Five Seahawks players are former Jets: Darnold, placekicker Jason Myers, linebacker and special teams ace Chazz Surratt, special teamer Ja’Markis Weston (practice squad), and defensive lineman Leonard Williams.
Three former Jets coaches are among the Seahawks who came away with football immortality. That group includes: John Benton (offensive line), Mack Brown (tight ends), and Rick Dennison (run game cooridator and senior offensive advisor).

Four former Jets coaches were on New England’s staff. That group includes: Tony Dews (running backs coach), Todd Downing (wide receivers coach), Doug Marrone (offensive line), and Mike Smith (outside linebackers coach).

Darnold entered the league as the No. 3 overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft. In March of 2018, the Jets traded up from pick No. 6 to pick No. 3 for the chance to select a top quarterback.
The Jets dreamed of Darnold ending their violent game of quarterback musical chairs, but it wasn’t meant to be.
While fans hoped Darnold would hoist the Lombardi as a member of the green and white, the actual result was the next best thing.
Darnold vanquished the Patriots on the grandest stage of them all. According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, entering this game, Darnold had a 0-4 all-time record versus the Patriots.
In those contests he was outscored 123-23 and had a one touchdown to nine interception ratio, per Cimini.
