Last week, the Philadelphia Eagles were able to get Makai Lemon back on the field in a limited capacity.
After missing the second preseason matchup against the New England Patriots, Lemon was suited up for Monday’s training camp action, showing more progress as he returns.
Following the August 24 practice session, Lemon finally addressed his setback and confirmed that the hamstring injury that he’s been recovering from is the same setback that kept him out of mandatory minicamp before training camp.

“I feel like it was definitely tough,” Lemon said of his recovery.
“I’m real competitive, and I never want to be away from this game. Me knowing that, the hamstring again, I’m just making sure I take the right precautions. I’m learning from it so it doesn’t happen again.”
Lemon was sidelined for multiple weeks after starting training camp as a full participant.
“The guys out there hooping, you know?” Lemon said of his team. “Just standing on the sideline, you’re like, ‘Damn, I wish I could be out there with them.’ But I’m just doing what I can do, away from being on the field, so when I get back out there, I’m ready to go.”

The Eagles still have one more preseason left to go. When they host the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday, Lemon’s status will be up in the air.
While getting some preseason reps could go a long way, the priority for Lemon is certainly being available for Week 1 of the regular season.
According to Jeff McLane, the rookie told reporters that Lemon “believes he will be ready for the season opener in terms of learning the offense and having Jalen Hurts’ trust.”
Time will tell when he will be truly ready.
