Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald has risen up the ranks in both college football and the NFL, but his wife Stephanie Macdonald may be the star of the family. Stephanie was an NFL cheerleader for eight years, notching stints with the Washington Commanders, Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans, per Seahawks.com’s Ari Horton.
In addition to her impressive career as a cheerleader, Stephanie is also a talented musician. Stephanie has performed the national anthem before NFL games and has also been a regular part of singing at her local church. During her time with the Ravens, Stephanie was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014.
“You’re not expecting it, it was my second year on the team and every single person on the team is so deserving and deserves to go,” Stephanie said of the Pro Bowl feat during a February 10, 2024, interview after her husband was hired by Seattle.

Not only did Mike become a first-time NFL head coach in 2024, but he also added fatherhood to his responsibilities. Mike and Stephanie welcomed their son Jack to the world on December 3, 2024.
The Seahawks coach admits that it is challenging to spend time with Jack during the demands of the NFL season, but Mike is trying to be home more.
“I actually think I’m here less, which I wish some of the rest of our coaches took that as well, but on Thursdays, I don’t get to see Jack throughout the week as much,” Mike told Seattle’s King 5 Sports on January 22. “So Thursdays… I try to get home pretty quick, like to be with him for maybe a half hour, hour before he goes to bed.
“And then I got a setup at my house where I can go, and then I work on the game plan, but able to spend some more time at home and be with Jack.”

The couple appears to be getting acclimated just fine to the Pacific Northwest. During his 2024 introductory press conference, Mike called his wife “an absolute rock star.”
“My wife Stephanie is an absolute rock star,” Mike noted in February 2024, per Seahawks.com. “You’ll get to know her, and this city will fall in love with her.”

Stephanie appears to be thrilled to have the family as part of the Seahawks organization. The Seahawks first lady believes the couple is meant to be in Seattle.
“It’s just incredible, we’re so lucky,” Stephanie remarked in February 2024 following Mike’s introductory press conference. “Walking in and having that warm welcome, I’m like ‘Alright, this is where we’re meant to be.'”
Mike has a chance to do something rare in NFL history: make the Super Bowl in just his second season as head coach. Something tells us Stephanie would love to be cheering on her husband in San Francisco as it means the Seahawks made the Super Bowl.
