The Washington Commanders are set to face the Detroit Lions on Saturday, August 22, on the road.
Heading into the game, the team has some potentially big news on the availability front for some its key offensive players.
According to Adam Schefter, the quarterback Jayden Daniels is expected to play in Saturday’s preseason action. His top two targets, Stefon Diggs and Terry McLaurin, are expected to be on the field as well.
When the Commanders fired up their preseason against the Miami Dolphins on August 14, most of the starters got the game off. The star trio was not active.

The 32-year-old wide receiver brings a lot of excitement to the Commanders’ offense. The four-time Pro Bowler was linked to the Commanders for most of the offseason, and finally signed on August 7.
According to a report, Diggs is on a one-year contract, making up to $12 million with the Commanders. He is coming off a big bounce-back year with the New England Patriots. Last season, Diggs produced 1,013 yards, with four touchdowns.
