Rena Marlette Lesnar, aka Sable, is the wife of WWE superstar and former UFC champion Brock Lesnar, who makes his in-ring return at WWE’s WrestlePalooza in Indianapolis on Sept. 20. The two sports entertainment titans have been married since 2006.
Here’s what you need to know about Brock Lesnar’s wife, Sable.
1. She had her own accomplished wrestling career
Sable, born Rena Greek on Aug. 8, 1967, in Jacksonville, Fla., was a former professional wrestler herself. After a sports-filled youth that also included beauty pageants and modeling, she made her WWE (then WWF) debut at WrestleMania XII as a manager. Coincidentally, she broke in as the valet for Hunter Hearst Helmsley, aka Paul Levesque, who went on to marry Vince McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, and now runs creative for the WWE. Eventually, Sable became a wrestler herself and went on to win the Women’s Championship at the 1998 Survivor Series. She eventually left the company on bad terms, suing WWE for more than $100 million, alleging sexual harassment and unsafe working conditions. The two sides eventually settled. Despite the tenuous end to her WWE run, Sable returned to the company in 2003 for another run that included a match with Stephanie McMahon. She also wrestled at WrestleMania XX before leaving again in 2004. She also had a short stint New Japan Pro Wrestling with Lesnar before retiring from wrestling in 2007.
2. He ex-husband was also in the business
Sable’s first real big break in the wrestling business came as the manager/valet for Marc Mero. The two were married and 1994, and after a short stint alongside Helmsley, she eventually accompanied Mero, her husband, to the ring. The two had a memorable run together during which Sable rose to prominence as a pop culture star amid pro wrestling’s most successful run in the 1990s. Mero, a former boxer, is a former intercontinental champion.
3. She married Lesnar in 2006
Sable and Brock Lesnar started dating before she and Mero were divorced. The affair led to an all-time line from Mero in 2016. Mero admitted the marriage was falling apart, and when he found it was Lesnar with whom she was cheating, he realized there wasn’t a whole lot he could do.
“Here I am assuming she was seeing another wrestler. I remember thinking ‘when I find out who this guy is, I’m gonna beat the tar out of him,'” Mero explained on Jim Ross’ podcast, per Uproxx. “When I found out it was Brock Lesnar, it gives forgiveness a whole new meaning.”
Sable and Lesnar got married in 2006, and according to an account from WrestleZone, Lesnar missed an MMA event because he was on his honeymoon.
4. Her sons have their own athletic careers
Sable and Lesnar had two sons together, and both are fairly accomplished hockey players. Turk Lesnar played three games for the Notre Dame Hounds of the under-17 CSSHL in 2024-25. Duke Lesnar, meanwhile, scored 13 goals with 15 assists in 30 games (with 43 penalty minutes, because of course) for the same team last season. The Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL drafted Duke with the 115th pick in the 2025 draft, and the 14-year-old will look to continue his young career in one of the best junior leagues in the world.
5. She had a brief acting career
Sable made plenty of headlines (and a lot of money) for some of her gigs outside the ring, including one of the highest-selling issues in Playboy history. She parlayed that success into a brief acting career. She appeared in episodes of “First Wave” and “Relic Hunter,” and “Ariana’s Quest,” as well as cameos in “Corky Romano,” “The Final Victim” and “Slaves of the Realm.”
