Rising UFC lightweight contender Chris Padilla called out respected UFC veteran Jim Miller for his next fight inside the Octagon.
Padilla defeated Nasrat Haqparast via third-round submission on the UFC Sacramento undercard, stopping his opponent at 4:59 of the third round with a vicious arm-triangle choke that left his foe unconscious.
Don’t look now, but Padilla has gone undefeated in his six UFC fights so far, going 5-0-1 since first entering the UFC in 2024. Dating back to 2022, Padilla is on a nine-fight unbeaten streak, going 8-0-1 since his last loss.
After beating Haqparast, Padilla now has his next callout ready.
Chris Padilla Calls Out Jim Miller
Speaking to Heidi Androl of UFC on Paramount+ following his win over Haqparast at UFC Sacramento, Padilla called out Miller — the UFC’s all-time wins leader — for his next fight.
“I need Jim Miller, man. You know, it’s a veteran, man. He’s been in the game for a really long time. I watched him growing up as a little maggot. So I just want that, you know what I’m saying? I want fights that are going to give me that little tingle. And Nasrat was one of those names that, like, we’re basically the same age, and he got to the game earlier than I did. So I just grew up watching them and was like, man, that’d be a crazy fun fight. I got to live my dream, and here I am. The new generation coming up and I’m here to slaughter every one of them,” Padilla said.
Jim Miller Coming Off a Win
One thing working in Padilla’s favor for this callout is that Miller is coming off a submission win over Jared Gordon in his last fight. Had Miller been coming off a loss, this matchup likely wouldn’t have legs of being booked, but since Miller has some momentum right now, the UFC may consider booking this matchup, since it would be an exciting fight between two fighters who like to finish fights.
That being said, don’t be surprised if Padilla gets a top-15 opponent after ripping off a six-fight unbeaten streak in the UFC.
