On Tuesday night, the San Antonio Spurs played the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center.
The Spurs won by a score of 131-91.
Victor Wembanyama finished the victory with ten points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and six blocks while shooting 3/5 from the field and 1/1 from three-point range in 24 minutes of playing time.
Wemby meets it at the rim… then instantly knows it’s goaltending and backs off.
He finished with 6 blocks in 24 mins in the Spurs’ 131–91 win last night.

After the game, Wembanyama made a bold statement about his team.
Wembanyama (via NBA on NBC and Peacock): “When we’re locked in, we play like this as a team, I think we’re the best team in the world.”

Wembanyama And Spurs This Season
Wembanyama is in the middle of his third NBA season.
The Spurs are having their best season in years, as they are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 44-17 record in 61 games.
Over their last ten games, they have gone 9-1 (and they are 22-11 on the road).
Following the 76ers, the Spurs will play their next game on Thursday night when they host the Detroit Pistons in Texas.

Wembanyama is having another strong year where he looks like one of the best seven players in the NBA.
He is averaging 23.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.9 blocks per contest while shooting 50.1% from the field and 34.3% from three-point range in 47 games.
NBA Communications wrote (on March 3): “San Antonio Spurs forward-center Victor Wembanyama and Boston Celtics guard Derrick White have been named the Kia NBA Western and Eastern Conference Defensive Players of the Month, respectively, for games played in February.”

The Spurs last made the NBA playoffs during the 2019 season when they had DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge on the roster.
Between 1999 and 2014, the franchise won five titles.
As for the 76ers, they dropped to 33-28 in 61 games, which has them as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak (and have won four out of their last ten).
Following the Spurs, the 76ers will play their next game on Wednesday when they host the Utah Jazz.
