On Azzi Fudd’s big night at the WNBA draft, there was plenty of speculation about whether Paige Bueckers would be in attendance to support the UConn star. Fudd accompanied Bueckers at the 2025 WNBA draft when she became the No. 1 pick.
All eyes were on Bueckers’ status at the WNBA draft, and the Dallas Wings star answered with an emphatic yes. Bueckers was shown cheering in the moments after the Wings selected Fudd with the No. 1 pick as the two stars will once again become teammates.
Prior to the WNBA draft, Bueckers already signed off on the move.
“That would be exciting,” Bueckers told Dallas Hoops’ Journal’s Grant Afseth when asked about the Wings potentially selecting Fudd. “Again, I don’t know all what I could say or what the future holds, but obviously we’ve had a lot of games together under our belt.
“We won a national championship together, so I think there’s great success in that. I guess time will tell.”

Paige Bueckers Appeared to Confirmed That Azzi Fudd Is Her Girlfriend Amid Rumors
There has been plenty of rumors that Fudd and Bueckers are more than just friends. During the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend, ESPN reposted an interview Bueckers did with the outlet Wag Talk where the star was asked questions about her “D1 girlfriend.”
At the end of the interview, Bueckers was asked to reveal her girlfriend to which the Wings guard responded: “Azzi Fudd.” There was also a viral photo of Fudd’s phone case with the words “Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend” which broke the internet.
Since the interview, Fudd and Bueckers have been quiet about their relationship status.
Azzi Fudd on Paige Bueckers: ‘We Complement Each Other Perfectly’
During a joint interview on “Close Friends Only with Instagram”, Bueckers and Fudd discussed their friendship. When asked why their friendship works, Fudd expressed that, “We complement each other perfectly.”
Bueckers had a slightly more nuanced take while admitting that the two have a lot of differences.
“I would say we don’t complement each other perfectly, but we adjust to each other’s complements, if that makes sense,” Bueckers responded. “… Yeah, and we also try to see each other’s point of view and perspective. Like, we both try to put each other in their shoes.”

The two stars have different memories of when the they first met. Bueckers and Fudd met in high school as teammates on USA Basketball.
“Almost kind of immediately (connected). I feel like we really clicked (when) we met,” Fudd said of her first memory of Bueckers. “… I felt like on the way back home, like I feel like we clicked immediately at USA Basketball when we met. On the court, we clicked. I don’t remember talking to you at all off the court.
“But I remember like the plane ride home to Minnesota, talking to you and really liking you. And then that’s when I thought our personality, like off the court, our personalities clicked.”
