The Indiana Fever appeared to have Thursday night’s game against the Las Vegas Aces won on two separate occasions.

However, Aces star Chelsea Gray drilled a game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime before hitting another game-winning 3-pointer in the extra period to lift Las Vegas to an 86-84 victory.

Gray finished with 11 points, including six on those two clutch shots, while shooting 4-for-10 from the field and 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.

As for Fever superstar Caitlin Clark, it’s likely a performance she’ll want to forget.

Clark finished with 20 points, eight assists and three rebounds, but she shot just 7-for-20 from the field, 2-for-10 from 3-point range and committed eight turnovers. One of those turnovers proved especially costly, as it led to Chelsea Gray’s game-winning 3-pointer in overtime.

Clark also had a chance to seal the game at the end of regulation. With the Fever leading 75-72 and 7.0 seconds remaining, the nearly 90% free-throw shooter missed both attempts at the line, which likely would have made it a two-possession game.

Basketball Fans React to Clark’s Performance

After the final buzzer, basketball fans shared mixed reactions to Clark’s performance.

“Awful game by her! She had a bad game and it happens from time to time. But they were right there, awful passing by both teams!” one fan wrote.

“As much as I want to defend Clark, I just can’t. Clark was the opposite of clutch. Same at Minnesota the previous game. I don’t want to say it, but she choked. Free throws missed and trying to throw over a player 6 inches taller. Clark deserves the criticism tonight,” another fan added.

“Kelsey did too. I’m a CC fan but this was a ball don’t lie after that botched out of bounds call lol,” another person wrote.

“Both our stars missed clutch free throws back to back and only one is getting shamed for it,” another fan shared.

“Yeah, she will have nightmares for a few nights,” one more fan commented.
