It is becoming routine by now, but the Indiana Fever again got stellar performances from their top guards, Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.
Clark and Mitchell combined for 67 points, as the Fever beat the Chicago Sky 113-90 on Sunday night. Mitchell finished with 30 points and yet again continued her WNBA record for consecutive games with 20+ points. Clark led the way with 37 points, while adding 10 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal.
There may not be an argument anymore about the Fever having the best guard duo in the league and potentially in history. That became even clearer with the latest record they broke.

After the game, the Fever announced that Clark and Mitchell had broken a WNBA record together. The two have the most games by a duo in which each scored at least 30 points in a contest in their careers with 3.
Mitchell is second in the WNBA in scoring with 24.8 points per contest. She is also averaging 2.8 assists, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game.
Clark leads the league in assists per game with 8.3. She is also averaging 22.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game.
Indiana Fever’s Guard Duo is Dominating the Competition This Season

The Fever finally survived the rough stretch of games that included four within a six-day window. All things considered, they went 2-2 and played better than some expected.
Clark and Mitchell were big reasons they got the job done and helped the team through the tough stretch. To put up 67 points in the final game of that stretch when they are exhausted is an incredible accomplishment in itself.
Indiana now has a 25-14 overall record and sits in fifth place in the standings. The Fever are tied with the Atlanta Dream for the fourth spot and a game and a half back of the Golden State Valkyries for the second seed.
Thankfully for the Fever, they have a short break and won’t be back in action until Friday, when they face the Connecticut Sun. That will be the last game before the World Cup break.
This is a time for Clark and Mitchell to recover their bodies after a tough past week. Clark is still dealing with her back injury, and Mitchell left the Toronto Tempo game last week because she was overheated.
The Fever will have time to rest and prepare for one last game before a much longer break. It will also give Clark and Aliyah Boston time to recover since the two will be playing for Team USA in the World Cup. Clark might have a shot at more history before she departs.
