Paige has reportedly quit the WWE.
This latest rumor comes from an MMA journalist via 411Mania, and it comes on the same day that Paige’s boyfriend, Alberto Del Rio, was officially released from his WWE contract.
This also comes after the report earlier this week that Paige has hired legal representation. She’s still contracted to work with the WWE for a few more years, so those lawyers would likely be trying to explore her options for leaving despite her contractual obligations.
Paige and Alberto Del Rio have been dating for most of 2016, and World Wrestling Entertainment has apparently not been happy with that. It was reported by professional wrestler Mister Saint Laurent that the company actually approached Paige and threatened to fire her if she did not break up with Del Rio.
“Mark Carrano, who fans might know from Total Divas, kind of like the office liaison guy, approached Del Rio and Paige individually and harassed each of them about their relationship,” Mister Saint Luarent said. “It was indicated that the office wanted them to sever their romantic relationship.”
He also said that wanting to split Paige and Del Rio apart was precisely the reason they were assigned to different shows in the 2016 draft.
Alberto Del Rio held a press conference in Mexico City today to discuss his future. Paige was in attendance for the conference, but she did not address reporters.
