It’s hard enough playing Barcelona at Camp Nou, but Manchester City didn’t make it easier on themselves Wednesday night. They made critical mistakes at their own end, including this one by Claudio Bravo:
Bravo had already made some sketchy passes on the evening, but this one went directly to Suarez. Bravo quickly realized his mistake, was too far outside the box to stop Suarez. He instinctively leaped to slap at the lobbed effort, but the illegal touch ended his night early.
It wasn’t the only mistake for City on the evingin. Fernandinho slipped in his own penalty area in the 17th minute, gifting the game’s opening goal to Messi and Barcelona.
Bravo signed with City in August, but had spent the previous two seasons at Barcelona. He’s also a veteran of Chile’s international squad, and was the first Chilean in history to record 100 caps with the senior squad.
