After tonight’s Monday Night Raw taping at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made an appearance, calling up CM Punk on the phone in the middle of the ring.

Johnson was not on this week’s episode of Raw, but he was at the Staples Center to film a scene from the upcoming movie Fighting With My Family, which is about the life of professional wrestler Saraya-Jade Bevis (Paige) and which Johnson is producing. After Raw, the film’s producers recreated a match between Paige and AJ Lee for the movie.

As soon as AJ Lee’s name was mentioned, fans at the Staples Center began to chant “CM Punk,” as Lee and Punk are married in real life. Apparently wanting to give the crowd in Los Angeles what they wanted, Johnson then called up CM Punk on his cell phone in the middle of the ring. Unfortunately, Punk did not answer, but Johnson did leave a voicemail.

“Hey Punk, it’s Rock,” Johnson said. “This is not a joke. I’m literally calling you from the middle of the Staples Center…they are chanting your name.”

Johnson then tried to FaceTime Punk but was apparently unable to reach him due to poor Wi-Fi.

Punk later said on Twitter that he was walking his dog when The Rock called, but he thanked the crowd for chanting his name and said, “Nice to hear from you.
