Mullins is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The Rays will hold the left-handed-hitting Mullins out of the lineup for the series opener and instead turn to Jonny DeLuca in center field while southpaw Trevor Rogers takes the hill for the Orioles. Mullins started in each of the last seven games and begun to show some life at the plate after a dismal start to the season. He recorded eight hits -- including a home run -- and stole three bases while posting a 3:4 BB:K during that seven-game stretch.

Boyce Mullins: Breaking News
Logs four hits vs. Miami
Mullins went 4-for-4 with three singles, one steal, a solo home run and two additional runs scored during the Rays' 7-2 win over the Marlins on Friday. Mullins utilized the bunt to get on base in both of his first two at-bats before smacking his third home run of the season (and first since April 18) in the sixth inning. He also logged his ninth steal of the season, which puts him eighth in the American League and second on the Rays behind Chandler Simpson (14). Over his last seven games, Mullins has gone 9-for-24 (.375) with three steals, one home run, five RBI and five runs scored.
Picks up steal Thursday
Mullins went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and one RBI in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Red Sox. Mullins made a rare start in center field versus a left-handed pitcher (Jake Bennett), but that isn't likely to be the norm moving forward. This was the third lefty the Rays had faced in four days, so Mullins' inclusion in the lineup was likely just to get him some playing time. He was able to swipe a bag for the first time in three tries this month, and he's hitting 4-for-17 (.235) over six games in May. That's not a great mark, but it's better than his .143 average for the season. Mullins has added a .430 OPS, seven steals on 10 attempts, two home runs, 10 RBI, nine runs scored, two doubles and a triple over 123 plate appearances. Barring a sustained run of good hitting, Mullins is trending toward a part-time role.
