A teacher and cheer coach who is married to an Oklahoma school superintendent is accused of indecent behavior with a 14-year-old boy.
Shelley Jo Duncan, 48, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma was arrested on September 16.
“We believe there was an inappropriate sexual relationship between this women and a young male student,” Jessica Brown, spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation told KFOR-TV, calling it an “alleged affair.”
Police gave her name as Shelly Duncan, but the school website lists her as Shelley, as do some news reports.

1. Duncan Is a Head Cheer Coach Who Used to Be a Probation & Parole Officer
KFOR said Duncan previously worked as a juvenile justice specialist at the Office of Juvenile Affairs and as a probation and parole officer for the Department of Corrections, before resigning. The television station said she is also the head cheer coach at Tishomingo High School.
Her posts on Twitter refer to the cheer team and occasionally to police and corrections.
On August 26, the local elementary school’s Facebook page wrote of Duncan, “Thanks for leading and serving! And big thanks to Shelley Duncan… and the rest of our coaching staff! You are creating leaders and difference makers! Have a super blessed season!” ”
In 2012, without explanation, Duncan wrote on Twitter, “almost 9 years ago, a blood transfusion saved my life. Give blood save lives!! #payingitfoward”
2. Duncan’s Husband Is the Superintendent of Schools
UK Daily Mail reported that Duncan is married to Tishomingo Public Schools Superintendent Kevin Duncan.
In June, Duncan wrote on Twitter along with a photo of her husband, “District 17 Superintendent of the Year. Congratulations…I am so proud of you. All my love.” On Twitter, she has also posted photos of her children.
3. Duncan Was an English Teacher at an Alternative High School
According to a statement posted on Facebook by the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation, Duncan was arrested at 9:30 a.m. September 16 by OSBI special agents. KFOR said she is an English teacher.
OSBI says that Duncan was “a school teacher who worked at the alternative school in Tishomingo” and that she was arrested “for inappropriate contact with a child.”
That Monday, the Tishomingo Police Department requested OSBI investigate an allegation that Duncan “was having inappropriate contact with a male student,” says the statement.
OSBI special agents “conducted interviews and collected evidence in the case” and, on September 16, “special agents arrested Duncan in the parking lot of the alternative school,” said the OSBI statement.
4. The Student Involved Is Only Fourteen Years Old, Reports Say
The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation wrote in its statement that Duncan was “being booked into the Johnston County jail on a complaint of lewd or indecent proposals or acts with a child under 16.”
According to KXII, the Tishomingo Police Department received a complaint from “the mother of a 14-year-old boy who said he was in a relationship with the 48-year-old teacher.”
On Twitter, Duncan filled her page with positive memes, tweets mentioning her husband, and tweets about the school and cheer team.
5. Duncan Allegedly Wrote Inappropriate Text Messages to the Boy
Investigators allegedly found “numerous inappropriate text messages between Duncan and the boy,” said KXII-TV.
