WATCH: Donald Trump Tweets Campaign-Style Ad With Joint Address Highlights

President Donald Trump ended the week by giving his supporters a campaign-style highlight reel of his February 28 address before a joint session of Congress. Trump tweeted the above video with his campaign slogan “Make America Great Again,” which he has continued to use, nearly two months into his presidency.

The video includes highlights of the speech, mostly focusing on his positive imagery of trying to unite the U.S. after the bitter 2016 Presidential Election. At the end, it tells viewers to go to The White House website, where viewers can watch the complete, hour-long address.

Notably, the speech doesn’t include the first few paragraphs, when Trump spoke about the need to push for civil rights on the last day of Black History Month and his denunciation of anti-Semitic threats to Jewish Community Centers.

“I am here tonight to deliver a message of unity and strength, and it is a message deeply delivered from my heart. A new chapter of American Greatness is now beginning,” Trump said in his speech. “A new chapter of American Greatness is now beginning. A new national pride is sweeping across our Nation. And a new surge of optimism is placing impossible dreams firmly within our grasp. What we are witnessing today is the Renewal of the American Spirit.”

The ad further crystallizes Trump’s view that he has to continue to campaign, even though he beat Hillary Clinton. Hours before Trump’s tweet, Politico reported that Trump is already starting to court donors for his 2020 campaign. Tonight, Trump is scheduled to speak in Palm Beach, Florida for at a Republican National Committee donors retreat. He’s looking to gain the support of hedge fund billionaire Paul Singer, who supported Marco Rubio during the GOP primaries in 2016.

“Life is a campaign,” Trump told reporters in February at Mar-a-Lago. “Making our country great again is a campaign. For me it’s a campaign, to make America great again is absolutely a campaign.”

In fact, Trump has already held a campaign-style rally since becoming President. On February 18, he held a rally in Melbourne, Florida, allowing him to speak directly to ardent supporters.

The video tweet followed two messages to Democratic lawmakers, suggesting that they’re the ones that need to be investigated because they met with Russian officials in the past, too.
