Former American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee performed the National Anthem before the NFC Championship game. Watch the video here. She was part of the show’s fifth season, which aired in 2006, and finished as the runner-up.

McPhee, who is a singer, songwriter and actress, starred in the show Smash as Karen Cartwright from 2012-2013. She has also had minor roles in a string of other shows and was in the TV movie In My Dreams as Natalie Russo.
She has won multiple awards, including the Fox Reality Award for Favorite Hottie in 2006, VH1 2006 Big Award for Big It Girl, Young Hollywood Award in 2007 for Exciting New Vocalist, Hollywood Style Award in 2012 for One To Watch Female and Women’s Image Network Award in 2012 for Best Actress in a Drama series.
