Copa America 2015 begins on June 11, 2015 in Chile and Peru are one of the underdogs. They will open with a match against Brazil on June 11, and are also in the same group as fourth in FIFA rankings Columbia.

Peru’s Copa America schedule is as follows:

June 14, 2015 : Brazil at Estadio Municipal German Becker in Temuco, Chile. (Brazil won 2-1 )

June 18, 2015 : Venezuela at Estadio Elias Figueroa in Valparaiso, Chile. (Peru won 1-0 )

June 21, 2015 : Columbia at Estadio Municipal German Becker in Temuco, Chile. (The teams drew 0-0 )

The knockout stages began on June 24, 2015, with Peru beating Bolivia 3-1 on June 25, 2015 at Estadio Municipal German Becker in Temuco, Chile. Peru finished second in Group C while Bolivia finished second in Group A.

On June 29, 2015, Peru will play hosts Chile in the Copa America semifinals at Estadio Nacional Julio Martinez Pradanos. Peru is 41-15-21 against 19th-ranked Chile in their international history.

In 2011, Peru snuck into the knockout round after upsetting Mexico 1-0 in Group play. Once in the quarterfinals, they registered an even bigger upset, beating Columbia 2-0 to earn a berth in the semifinals against Uruguay. Even though they were beat 2-0 by the champion Uruguay, they ended up beating Venezuela to finish third in the tournament.
