The Buffalo Bills didn’t make their first selection in the 2015 NFL Draft until pick 50. The Bills selected Florida state defensive back Ronald Darby.

The pick was announced by former Bills and Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly — Kelly notoriously had a long battle with cancer last year and came down with a MRSA infection back in November — and received a standing ovation from the crowd at Roosevelt Auditorium in Chicago.

Kelly continues to persevere through his battle with cancer and looks to be a mainstay in the Buffalo community in honor of his son Hunter who lost his battle at eight-years-old.

Before NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell even spoke a word, the crowd took over and noticed who he was about to introduce and the ovation lasted for well over a minute. It was a great gesture and an awesome moment that will be remembered fondly years from now.
