FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi scored in his 500th appearance for the football club on Wednesday against Real Betis in a La Liga match. It was his 425th career goal.
Messi was named to the starting lineup as Barca tried to remain in La Liga’s top spot.
Messi began his career with Barcelona’s senior team in 2004, and had scored an 424 goals in 499 matches coming into the day. Messi has won 26 trophies with the Catalan club. Messi is 28 years of age. Before the January transfer window, this may be the last time we see Messi, Brazlian native and star Neymar and Uruguar native Luis Suarez together in action all together on FC Barcelona.
