Zayn and Cesaro were the only men left in the ring, which led to them locking horns and showing off to the crowd. Zayn got in a nice flurry of offense on Cesaro at first. Afterwards, Cesaro recovered and dropped Zayn with a Spinning Backbreaker. Soon, Miz got back into the match and started brawling with both men. Zayn pushed both men outside and then landed on them both with a Tope Con Hilo. Back in the ring, Zayn looked to remain in control but Miz cut him off with his Corner Clothesline. Miz climbed the top rope, but Zayn stopped him and looked for a Superplex. Cesaro came in and almost dropped them both with a Tower of Doom. Owens finally woke up and stopped this all from going down.

Owens threw Cesaro and his injured shoulder into the steel ring post, then he focused his offense on Zayn. Owens made sure to beat down Zayn repeatedly and stop the other two men from getting inside the ring. Once Owens got to the top rope, Miz finally returned but he got cut off by Owens. Zayn went for the same move Miz looked for, but he pushed off too. Once Miz and Zayn looked to both Superplex Owens, Cesaro dropped all three men with a Tower of Doom. Cesaro then sent Miz around the world with a Big Swing that went right into a Sharpshooter. Miz crawled to the rope and ended up getting his wife pulled into the ring. Miz tapped, but the ref was too concerned with Maryse.

Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho (Asylum Match)

Extreme Rules 2016

Winner: Dean Ambrose!

Highlights: The crowd got to witness the Asylum cage slowly make its way down to the ring as the lights flickered and some frightening music played over the speakers. This match can be won via pin or submission. Once both competitors got locked inside the cage, Ambrose got in some early offense. Jericho yelled at the ref to open the cage, but Ambrose cut him off while the ref tried to explain to Y2J that he couldn’t do so. Ambrose clotheslined Y2J and threw him into the cage a few times after Jericho attempted to grab a weapon off the cage. Both men ended up climbing the cage, which resulted in Ambrose retrieving a mop and sticking it right in Y2J’s ears. Ambrose then assaulted Jericho with his newly acquired weapon. After getting some space from Ambrose, Jericho landed a missile dropkick on Ambrose and then beat on him with his own mop.

Jericho then made his climb up the cage to get a barbed wire 2×4, but Ambrose brought him back down to the mat with a Back Suplex. Then both recovered quickly and got a weapon of their own: Ambrose picked up some nunchucks while Jericho got his barbed wire 2×4. Jericho missed hitting Ambrose with his weapon, which led to Ambrose landing in some nice strikes with his chosen weapon. Jericho and Ambrose ended up on top of the cage later on. Y2J grabbed a Kendo Stick and went to town on his opponent with continued strikes. Jericho came off the top rope with another Kendo Stick shot that cracked Ambrose over the head. Jericho then used Ambrose’s nunchucks to assault him and made sure to add insult to injury with a quick suplex.

Y2J climbed the cage once again and this time he got ahold of a leather strap. He began whipping the hell out of a grounded Ambrose while he jaw jacked with the crowd. When Y2J climbed the top rope, Ambrose got to his feet and pulled Jericho to the mat by using his leather strap. Ambrose got to do some lethal whips of his own on Jericho with his leather strap. Jericho ended up shoving Ambrose right into the cage after getting viciously whipped. Y2J tried to escape the cage once again, but Ambrose caught up with him and dropped him groin first onto the ring ropes. Ambrose then climbed the cage and got himself a fire extinguisher. Jericho then chose to get ahold of a straightjacket. Jericho threw the straightjacket right onto Ambrose and shocked him with a quick Enzuguri. Jericho remained in control by slamming him into the cage and then dropkicking him into it for good measure. Y2J punched Ambrose, berated him and then tried locking the straightjacket around Ambrose. Ambrose got to his feet, escaped the straightjacket and began landing his comeback moveset on Jericho.

Ambrose remained in control for a bit before Y2J finally took him down with a Double Arm Backbreaker. Jericho’s turn at bat didn’t last long though as he soon got caught with a Bulldog from Ambrose. Ambrose then did the unthinkable: he climbed all the way to the top of the cage and then flew back down with a elbow drop on Jericho! However, he was still unable to pin Jericho. Ambrose got himself a plastic bucket that contained a bag full of thumbtacks. Ambrose then made the crowd come alive by dumping them all over the mat, which sacred the hell out of Y2J. Y2J tried leaving the ring, but Ambrose pulled him back down. Both men made several attempt to drop one another on the tacks, but to no avail. Jericho event went for a Lionsault, but Ambrose got his knees up in time to counter him. Ambrose almost hit his Dirty Deeds on Y2J on top of the tacks, but Jericho countered him and locked in his Walls of Jericho.

Ambrose remained locked in for several moments while the ref looked on. Ambrose then grabbed a Kendo Stick and swung wildly at Y2J, who was then forced to break the hold. Ambrose climbed to the top rope to land another big strike, but Y2J blinded him with the fire extinguisher and hit him with a Codebreaker. Ambrose till kicked out at two, though! Jericho cracked Ambrose with the barbed wire 2×4 over and over right after. Jericho went for another Codebreaker, but Ambrose caught him and flung his back first right onto the thumbtacks. Ambrose finally got the win after landing his Dirty Deeds on Jericho.
