Things got heated in Las Vegas as driver Kyle Busch approached Joey Logano and punched him in the face at the conclusion of the race. Logano’s pit crew can be seen surrounding Busch wrestling him to the ground. Busch got up from the ground with a bloody forehead.
Busch was upset after Logano made contact with him on the last lap causing a wreck. Martin Truex Jr. was the winner of the Kobalt 400 in Vegas. According to OnPitRoad.com, Logano finished fourth while Busch finished 22nd.
“I got dumped. (Logano) flat out drove straight into the corner and wrecked me. That’s how Joey races, so he’s going to get it,” Busch told FOX after the race (via USA Today).
For his part, Logano seemed much calmer after the race. He explained his thoughts on the final lap as well as the fight to USA Today.
“There wasn’t a lot of talking; there was a lot of swinging. I was racing hard there at the end. He tried to pin me hard down there into the corner. I was going to spin out, so I tried to chase it up. And he was there. It was nothing intentional, but obviously he thinks that,” Logano told USA Today.
Logano’s 4th place finish gives him 39 points in the standings while Busch finished with 16 points. Both drivers started the race inside the top 10. Logano qualified sixth while Busch was in ninth.
