No one expected Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Isaiah Horton to enter the transfer portal after just one year in Tuscaloosa. However, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported on X that the redshirt junior is expected to enter the transfer portal before his fifth year.
Horton was first overall draft pick Cam Ward’s go-to guy in Ward’s one season with the Miami Hurricanes.
Horton recorded 56 receptions for 616 yards and five touchdowns in his sophomore year at Miami.
After transferring to Alabama, the wide receiver took a back seat to superstar sophomore Ryan Williams as well as projected first-round draft pick Germie Bernard in the Crimson Tide’s passing game.
Despite the talented room, Horton still finished the season with a career high of eight touchdowns. His receptions fell to 42, and he recorded 511 yards, the third-most on the team.
With Bernard going to the draft, Horton was going to the Crimson Tide’s starting X receiver and a part of a dangerous backfield with freshman Lotzier Brooks in the slot.
Horton’s Alabama career is headlined by a three-touchdown performance against the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl.
