On Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves will conclude their series with the Seattle Mariners in Washington.

The Braves and Mariners have split the first two games, so whoever wins on Wednesday will take the series.

Ahead of Wednesday’s series finale, the Braves announced that they had designated José Azocar for assignment.

The Braves wrote (via X): “The #Braves today selected INF Jim Jarvis to the major league roster and designated OF José Azócar for assignment.”

Looking At Azócar

Azócar appeared in two games for the Braves this season.

He has also had stints with the San Diego Padres and New York Mets over part of five MLB seasons.

Over 230 career games, Azócar is batting .243 with 94 hits, two home runs, 22 RBI’s, 58 runs and 20 stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Jarvis was picked in the 11th round of the 2023 MLB Draft.

The former Alabama star has yet to make his MLB debut.

Mark Bowman of MLB.com wrote of the roster move: “Weiss said Harris will be in the lineup this afternoon as long as he arrives at the stadium still feeling good. Switching an OF for an INF is another good sign Harris’ quad issue has significantly improved. Could see him in CF today or during Friday’s series opener at Dodger Stadium”

Braves Right Now

The Braves have had an incredible start to the 2026 MLB season with a 26-11 record in 37 games.

They are also 14-5 in the 19 games they have played away from Truist Park.

Following the Mariners, the Braves will play their next series against the Los Angeles Dodgers (starting on Friday in California).

After missing the 2025 playoffs, they look like a legitimate contender to win the World Series.
