
On Friday afternoon, the Chicago Cubs will open up their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field.
They had an off day on Thursday following a three-game series with the San Diego Padres in California.
Dansby Swanson left Tuesday’s game in the second inning (and did not play on Wednesday).

For Friday’s game, the Cubs have announced their starting lineup.

Swanson will be back in action.
He is batting .214 with 21 hits, six home runs, 23 RBI’s, 23 runs and two stolen bases in his first 30 games of the 2026 season.

Cubs Ahead Of D-Backs Series

The Cubs are off to a solid start to the 2026 season with 19-12 record in 31 games.
They are 11-5 in the 16 games they have played at Wrigley Field.
In their series with the Padres, the Cubs took two out of three games.

Swanson is in his fourth year playing for the Cubs after a fantastic run with the Atlanta Braves.
The 2021 World Series Champion helped the Cubs make the NLDS last season.
He is a two-time All-Star (and two-time Gold Glove winner).
D-Backs Ahead Of Cubs

The Diamondbacks enter the day as the third-place team in the National League West with a 16-14 record in 30 games.
They are 7-8 in the 15 games they have played outside of Arizona.
