Ian Happ: Everything you need to know

Happ went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in a 2-0 win against the Diamondbacks on Saturday. Happ produced all the offense Chicago would need with a solo blast to right field in the second inning. He later scored the team's only other run of the game in the eighth. Happ was the only Cub to notch multiple hits in the game -- in fact, the remainder of the lineup went a combined 2-for-25. It was a much-needed big performance from Happ, who had gone 3-for-23 with nine strikeouts (albeit with six walks) over his previous seven contests.

Happ went 2-for-6 with a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Thursday's 8-7, 10-inning win over the Phillies. Happ had an impactful afternoon as he launched his third home run over his last seven games and seventh overall this year. The veteran outfielder also set a new season high with the three runs scored. Happ is now riding a seven-game hitting streak, and he's batting a cool .346 during the span to push his season average up to an even .250, which would be his highest mark since 2022.

Happ went 1-for-4 with two walks, a stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Phillies. Happ reached three times in the win and also mustered his first stolen base of the season in his first attempt. The veteran outfielder doesn't run like he used to, as he only had six steals during the 2025 regular season following 13 swipes in 2024 and 14 in 2023. Happ might not possess the same wheels he used to have, but he's still effective at getting on base, and he's delivered at least 20 home runs in each of the last three years as well. The 31-year-old has also played in at least 150 games for four straight seasons.
