It’s been over a week since the Los Angeles Dodgers won their last MLB game. They have been swept in back-to-back series by the Boston Red Sox and then the Chicago Cubs.
However, LA does still hold an eight-game lead in the NL West with a strong 69-46 record.
Across MLB, there has been immense roster shuffling going on this week, and the Dodgers are no exception. On Thursday (an off day for LA), before their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Dodgers announced the release of two players from their organization.

Los Angeles Dodgers Released Two Players on Thursday

According to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Single-A affiliate, the Ontario Tower Buzzers, two players have been released from the organization:
“Ontario Tower Buzzers released RHP Jhonny Jimenez.”
“Ontario Tower Buzzers released LHP Peter Bonilla.”
Let’s take a quick look at both players’ careers:
Jhonny Jimenez: Jimenez is a 22-year-old pitcher out of Bonao, Dominican Republic.
Across 185+ minor-league innings pitched, he collected an ERA of 5.38 with 157 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.61.
Peter Bonilla: Bonilla is a 21-year-old pitcher out of Barcelona, Spain. He has tallied 134.1 IP in the minors so far and holds an ERA of 3.89 with 171 SO and a WHIP of 1.49.

Looking at Some Other Dodgers Roster Transactions
As of Thursday, August 6, no one else has been released from the Dodgers organization.
However, there is no shortage of roster transactions across the minor-league affiliates.
Some notable ones that have recently happened include Blake Snell going on (and seemingly completing) a rehab assignment with AAA Oklahoma City.
Pitcher Bobby Miller is also set to go on a rehab assignment down in OKC, but he will likely stay with the Comets for the remainder of the season.
Since being optioned to the minors, Emmet Sheehan has been activated by AAA OKC, and will likely make a start for the Comets this weekend.
The Dodgers obviously made some moves at the MLB trade deadline, so there’s a lot of roster shuffling going around, but LA didn’t bring in as many minor league players as other ‘selling’ teams did.
