The Atlanta Braves are rolling through their MLB schedule right now. They have won seven straight game, and will look to sweep the Miami Marlins on Thursday evening before heading to New York for a big weekend series with the Yankees.
Atlanta is 14-5 since the All-Star break, which is good for the best in the bigs in that 19-game sample size.
Since the MLB trade deadline has come and gone, there have been several roster transactions across the league, and the Braves are no exception.
A few days ago, the Braves quietly released two players from their organization during their series with the Marlins.

Braves Release SS Keshawn Ogans, C Tyler Tolve

According to the Braves’ AA affiliate, Columbus Clingstones’ transactions page, Keyshawn Ogans and Tyler Tolve have been released from the organization (on 8/3):
“Columbus Clingstones released SS Keshawn Ogans.”
“Columbus Clingstones released C Tyler Tolve.”
Let’s take a quick look at both players’ professional careers to this point.
Keshawn Ogans: A 24-year-old shortstop from San Francisco, CA. He’s batted .135 across 36 games this season with three different minor-league affiliates. Over his professional career, Ogans carries a batting average of .231 over 1176 at-bats with 11 home runs and 125 RBI. Ogans was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 20th round of the 2022 draft.
Tyler Tolve: A 26-year-old catcher who was drafted by the Braves in the 17th round of the 2021 MLB draft. He’s batted .161 across 22 games and 56 total at-bats this season. His career MiLB stats: 1016 at-bats, .227 average, 33 HR, 147 RBI, OPS of .684.
Both players are now free agents and can sign with any MLB organization, but they will have a lot of work to do before reaching the bigs.

More on the Braves’ Latest Roster Transactions
Taking a look at the Atlanta Braves’ MLB club transactions, the biggest moves they’ve made this week have been DFA’ing Jorge Mateo to activate Ha-Seong Kim, who has yet to play since returning to the fold.
Elieser Hernandez has also been re-signed, but he’s now on the minor-league IL.
Other moves include activating the newly acquired players like Lane Thomas, Brent Suter, and Tyler Mahle.
Due to Atlanta’s recent winning streak, it has opened up a comfortable 8.0-game lead in the NL East over the Phillies, and the Braves now have the 2nd-best record in MLB, behind the Milwaukee Brewers.
