On Tuesday night, the New York Yankees will have their first meeting of the season with the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

The Yankees are coming off a three-game sweep over the Kansas City Royals (at home).

Anthony Volpe has yet to appear in a game during the 2026 season, as he is recovering from injury.

He has recently played in Double-A games for the Somerset Patriots.

On Monday, it was announced that Volpe will now play for the Triple-A affiliate of the Yankees this week.

SWB RailRiders wrote: “🚨 MLB REHAB: @Yankees infielder Anthony Volpe is currently scheduled to join the RailRiders on an MLB Rehab Assignment this week, beginning Tuesday night (4/21).”

Volpe’s MLB Career

Volpe has spent all three seasons of his career with the Yankees.

The 24-year-old was picked in the first round of the 2019 MLB Draft.

In addition to being drafted by the Yankees, Volpe is also from New Jersey.

Over 472 career games, he is batting .222 with 52 home runs, 192 RBI’s, 217 runs and 70 stolen bases.

The Yankees come into their series with the Red Sox as the top team in the American League East.

They are 5-4 in nine games on the road.

Following the Red Sox, the Yankees will play their next series on April 24 when they visit the Houston Astros.
