Seven-Year New York Yankees Player Is Still An MLB Free Agent

On Friday night, the New York Yankees hosted the Kansas City Royals in the Bronx.

The Yankees won by a score of 4-2.

Ryan McMahon led the team with a home run to take the lead in the eighth inning.

With the season well underway, it’s worth noting that a former Yankees player is still a free agent.

Chad Green remains available to sign with any team in the league on April 18.

Green is coming off a season where he went 3-2 with a 5.56 ERA in 45 games for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Green’s MLB Career

Green was picked in the 11th round of the 2013 MLB Draft.

He spent the first seven years of his career playing for the Yankees.

During the 2017 season, Green went 5-0 with a 1.83 ERA in 40 games.

Green then spent the last three seasons with the Blue Jays.

Over 382 career games, he has gone 43-30 with a 3.43 ERA.

At 34, Green could still be a reliable pitcher for teams to add to their roster for depth.

The Yankees are currently 11-9 in 20 games, which has them as the second-place team in the American League East.

They are 6-5 in the 11 games they have played at home in the Bronx.

Following two more games against the Royals, the Yankees will visit the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park on April 21.
