Philadelphia Phillies Announce Bryson Stott Decision Before Mariners Series

On Monday night, the Philadelphia Phillies will begin a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

Most recently, the Phillies won the series finale 6-4 against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.

Bryson Stott got the start at second base on Sunday. He went 0-for-3, but had to depart before the end of the game after fouling a ball off himself.

Ahead of the series opener against Seattle, the Philadelphia Phillies have announced their starting lineup.

Fortunately for the Phillies, it appears Stott’s injury was not serious, as he is in the starting lineup for Monday’s game. With Arraez returning to the lineup, Stott will once again get the start at third base.

Stott is batting .259 with 112 hits, 25 doubles, six triples, nine home runs, 57 runs, 59 RBIs and 23 stolen bases in 125 games.


Phillies Right Now

After sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals, the Philadelphia Phillies improved to 73-58 on the season. They are now only three games behind the Atlanta Braves in the National League East. The Phillies have gone 9-1 over their last 10 games, as they have swept their last three opponents.

Right-hander Zack Wheeler is set to make his 22nd start this season. He enters Monday’s game with a 10-4 record and a 2.92 ERA in 120.1 innings. However, Wheeler has allowed 10 runs over his last three starts.


Mariners Right Now

Meanwhile, the Seattle Mariners have also announced their starting lineup.

At 62-69 the Mariners are in third place in the American League West. They have gone 6-4 over their last 10 games. They are three games behind the Houston Astros in the American League West.

Right-hander Logan Gilbert will take the mound for the Mariners. Gilbert enters Monday’s game with a 10-7 record and a 3.35 ERA in 150.1 innings.
