Niece Motorsports announced a big-time internet personality will be competing at Daytona.

Qualifying for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on Friday, February 13, took place earlier in the day for 44 entrants vying to make the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. When the single-truck sessions ended, Ty Majeski and the No. 88 Ford of ThorSport Racing laid down a fast lap of 50.882 sec/176.883 mph to claim the Pole Award.

This is his third DIS pole at the 2.5-mile, high-banked trioval. Starting outside of him will be NASCAR Cup Series regular Micheal McDowell, he coursed around the track in 50.938 sec/176.682 mph in the No. 7 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports. This is his first ever DIS front row start in any NASCAR series.

Also making the 37-Truck field were high-profile drivers such as Hall of Fame and three-time Cup Series champion Tony Stewart, YouTube star Garret Mitchell (aka Cleetus McFarland) and X Games star Travis Pastrana.

Ty Majeski Wins Truck Series Pole at Daytona

Kicking off the NCTS season with a pole sets a good tone for any team. Doing so with a new one makes it even better. Last year, ThorSport announced Majeski would take over the No. 88 Ford from NCTS Champion and long-time competitor Matt Crafton.

Mitchell will line up 12th in the No. 4 Chevrolet for Niece Motorsports making his first NCTS start. Stewart will start 15th in his No. 25 Kaulig Racing Dodge Ram. Pastrana will line up 16th in the No. 42 Chevrolet for Niece Motorsports.

Cup Series Drivers in the Lineup

Adding even more excitement to the event are NASCAR Cup Series regulars Carson Hocevar, who rolls off fourth in the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet. John Hunter Nemechek will start 18th in the No. 62 Toyota for Halmar Friesen Racing. Ricky Stenhouse will 31st in the No. 45 Chevrolet for Niece Motorsports.

Also of note, Stewart Friesen has returned to drive the No. 52 Toyota for HFR after having his season cut short last year. He endured multiple injuries suffered in a DIRT Modified race in June and worked hard to rehab his way back to racing. Friesen will start 24th.

4 of 5 Dodge Ram Teams Qualify on Time

NASCAR said if any of the new Dodge Ram Trucks failed to make the race on time, each team could use a provisional to compete. This would have expanded the field to a maximum 40 Trucks.

The only Kaulig team needing the provisional is reality show winner Mini Tyrell. His lap of 173.712 mph/51.810 seconds was 37th-fastest overall, which is where he will start in his No. 14 Dodge Ram.

To watch or listen to the 100-lap NCTS race from Daytona, live broadcasts can be found on FS1-TV, MRN Radio and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio at 7 p.m. ET.
