Marten logged 12 points (4-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, an assist and three steals across 24 minutes of Friday's 97-95 win over the Pacers in overtime. Martin missed the final three games of the 2023-24 regular season with a sprained left ankle, but he's overcome the injury and operated as Brooklyn's sixth man Friday. The 20-year-old inked a two-year, two-way contract with the Nets in February and although he'd been part of the Nets' roster, he has yet to make his NBA debut.

Latest Nets News
Jaylen Martin : Scores 12 points in Summer League
Marten logged 12 points (4-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, an assist and three steals across 24 minutes of Friday's 97-95 win over the Pacers in overtime. Martin missed the final three games of the 2023-24 regular season with a sprained left ankle, but he's overcome the injury and operated as Brooklyn's sixth man Friday. The 20-year-old inked a two-year, two-way contract with the Nets in February and although he'd been part of the Nets' roster, he has yet to make his NBA debut.
Dariq Whitehead : Starting in Summer League
Whitehead is in the starting lineup for the Nets' Summer League game against the Clippers on Sunday, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. Whitehead appears to have made a full recovery from a procedure he had in January to address a left shin stress reaction, and has started in both the Nets Summer League games this far. Whitehead played 28 minutes Friday against Indiana and generated five points (1-12 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, an assist, three steals and two blocks.
Trendon Watford : Staying with Brooklyn
Watford signed a one-year, $2.73 million contract Brooklyn on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Watford had been a restricted free agent, but because he signed his qualifying offer, he'll become an unrestricted free agent next summer. He made 63 appearances for the Nets during the 2023-24 season, posting averages of 6.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 13.6 minutes.
Dennis Schroder : Ties game-high 17 points in win
Schroder (Achilles) posted 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four assists, one rebound and one steal across 27 minutes in Germany's 70-65 win over France on Monday. Schroder missed the final two games of the Nets' season due to an Achilles injury. In 2023-24, he averaged 14.6 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 32.0 minutes per game. However, the 30-year-old's injury seems to no longer be a concern as Germany prepares for the Olympic Games in Paris. Through two preparation games, the veteran point guard is averaging 20.0 points, 5.0 assists and 1.0 rebounds across 27.5 minutes. Schroder and Germany will officially begin the games by facing off against Japan on July 27.
Shake Milton : Headed to Brooklyn
Milton signed a 3-year, $9 million contract with the Knicks on Thursday before being shipped, along with Bojan Bogdanovic, to the Nets as part of the sign-and-trade that will send Mikal Bridges and Keita Bates-Diop (shin) to the Knicks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. While the final two years of Milton's contract are non-guaranteed, he will have an opportunity to compete for backcourt minutes in a rebuilding Nets squad. In 2023-24, Milton averaged 4.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 12.1 minutes across 48 total appearances for the Pistons, Timberwolves and Knicks.
Trendon Watford : To become restricted free agent
The Nets extended Watford a qualifying offer, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports. Brooklyn will have the opportunity to match opposing offers made to Watford. The 23-year-old appeared in 63 games with Brooklyn last season, averaging 5.9 points and 3.1 rebounds on 53/40/79 shooting splits across 13.6 minutes.
Nic Claxton : Set for four-year extension
Claxton intends to sign a four-year, $100 million contract extension with the Nets, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Less than 24 hours after dealing Mikal Bridges to the Knicks, Brooklyn is on the verge of locking up Claxton for four seasons. The 24-year-old started in each of his 147 appearances over the last two seasons, averaging 11.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.1 blocks per game in 2024. Claxton's name had been rumored in trade talks this offseason with the Nets slated for a rebuild, but for now, he's one of the franchise's cornerstones.
Bojan Bogdanovic : Headed to Brooklyn
The Knicks traded Bogdanovic (foot/wrist) to the Nets along with four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick via the Bucks, an unprotected pick swap and a second-round pick in exchange for Mikal Bridges on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Bogdanovic will head to Brooklyn after being traded from the Pistons to the Knicks in 2023-24. The veteran forward saw his production decrease after coming to New York on a bench role, averaging 10.4 points and 2.0 rebounds in 19.2 minutes across 29 appearances. Bogdanovic underwent surgery on his left wrist and was reported to need left foot surgery after the Knicks' postseason exit, but he is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. In Brooklyn, the 34-year-old forward will likely compete for a starting forward spot alongside Cameron Johnson (toe) and could return to his nearly 20 points per game average.
