Controversial Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green called out rival Tari Eason for his mistakes in the Houston Rockets playoff failures. Houston lost Game 3 to the Los Angeles Lakers to fall to a 0-3 series disadvantage, despite being the favorites entering the series. Green went out of his way to post about Eason’s mistakes in the closing stretch and blame him for the Rockets’ horrible postseason run.

The following message game from Green’s Threads account late in Game 3 last night:

“Tari Eason didn’t want to guard down the stretch. Unnecessary switches, and then the foul with a 5 second differential. Tough.”

Green watches all the games and usually waits until his podcast tapings to give his unfiltered thoughts about what happened. However, past issues with Eason during the Warriors vs Rockets games of the last two seasons led to a rivalry forming between the two sides and inspired a faster reaction on social media.

History has shown that Green will hold grudges and loves to talk trash when he gets the chance. Green wasted no time making it known that Eason made mistakes and deserves blame for his Rockets suffering a third straight loss to a Lakers team missing Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

Why Draymond Green Hates Tari Eason

The tension between Eason and various members of the Warriors started when the former started mocking the usually successful franchise. Eason posted a message from The Warriors film mocking the “Warriors to come out and play” after a game in the 2023-2024 season.

Green and Klay Thompson took exception to this since Eason didn’t even suit up to play that game. Last season’s first round series saw more trash talk exchanged between each side to prove tension was still lingering.

Eason recently flat out said he doesn’t like the Warriors or most of the players on that team just a month ago towards the end of the regular season. Green has made it clear he doesn’t have much respect for Eason due to the lack of success he has in the NBA so far. Last night’s game gave him more ammunition to ridicule Eason and the Warriors.

Was Draymond Green’s Criticism Valid?

Green tried to pass some of the blame to Eason for the Rockets having another stinker choking the game late to the Lakers. However, other players made far bigger mistakes down the stretch with the game on the line.

Jabari Smith and Reed Sheppard each had inexcusable turnover causing Houston to lose a 6-point lead with just 25 seconds left on the clock. Alperen Sengun took a bad shot at the end of regulation when the Rockets had their last chance to win Game 3.

Green went out of his way to call out Eason’s mistakes due to him talking more often than his Houston teammates. Things look bleak for the Rockets unless they can make history and come back from a 0-3 deficit. Unfortunately, Kevin Durant’s injury and poor team chemistry makes it seem virtually impossible for Houston to get past the first round.
