Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James now has two sons making moves in the basketball world as former touted recruit Bryce James is headed to the Final Four with Arizona. LeBron’s oldest son Bronny James is teammates with the Lakers legend, but Bryce is still gaining familiarity with the game of college basketball.
All this has fans wondering if LeBron will be cheering on Bryce at the Final Four in Indianapolis, Indiana. Nothing can be certain until tipoff, but LeBron appeared to tip his hand about his decision on social media.
The Lakers do not play on Saturday, April 4, so, in theory, LeBron could attend Arizona’s primetime showdown against Michigan. Los Angeles does play the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, April 5.
Here’s what we know about LeBron’s status at the Final Four.
Will LeBron James Be at the Final Four to Cheer on His Son Bryce James & Arizona?
All signs point to LeBron cheering on Bryce and Arizona from Dallas. Social media sleuths spotted LeBron in Dallas golfing at a DFW course amid the Lakers off day on Friday, April 3.
Hours before tipoff of the Arizona-Michigan game, LeBron posted an Instagram Story photo of himself and Bronny decked out in Lakers gear in what appeared to be a Los Angeles team practice.
That said, LeBron is more than capable of flying private to Indianapolis and returning in time for the Lakers-Mavericks game on Sunday, April 5.
LeBron’s recent actions indicate his likely attendance decision for the Final Four.
LeBron James’ Son, Bryce James, Is Unlikely to Play for Arizona in the Final Four
With Bryce not expected to play in the Final Four, chances are LeBron will be cheering on Arizona from afar. Bryce is redshirting his freshman season to gain experience in the Wildcats system.
LeBron’s son is expected to have a role on Arizona’s squad in 2027. Bryce has yet to play in a game for the Wildcats this season.
Lakers Legend LeBron James Is Not Expected To Be at the Final Four
Questions about LeBron’s status could resurfact if Arizona is able to top Michigan to reach the national championship on Monday, April 6. After Arizona punched their ticket to the Final Four, LeBron took to social media to express his excitement.
“🐻 DOWN!!!! FINAL 4️⃣ BOUND @ArizonaMBB 🫡,” LeBron noted in a March 28, message on X.
Bryce James Is Not Projected as Prospect in the 2026 NBA Draft
Heading into the college basketball season, there had been some speculation that Bryce could be a potential prospect for the 2026 NBA draft. It would create a slim chance that LeBron could play alongside both sons, or at least be on the same court.
Yet, Bryce’s lack of experience means his NBA chances will likely have to wait until 2027, at the earliest. LeBron was much more vocal about playing with Bronny but has taken a quieter approach to Bryce’s pro potential.
“I’m not waiting on Bryce,” James noted in September 2025, per Fox Sports. “I don’t know what his timeline is. He’s his own young man now. He’s down in Tucson.
“We’ll see what happens this year, next year. He has his own timeline, I’ve got my timeline, and I don’t know if they quite match up. We’ll see.”
