The Philadelphia 76ers have opened their season with two comeback victories. Now comes their first test of managing an aging roster through consecutive games.
LeBron James headlines five players on the 76ers injury report for Saturday’s home game against the Milwaukee Bucks, raising questions about how coach Nick Nurse will handle his rotation.
According to the NBA’s official noon injury report, James is questionable because of lower back and sciatica management.
Dean Wade is also questionable, while Dominick Barlow, Tacko Fall and Ariel Hukporti have been ruled out.
Joel Embiid, however, is not listed.
That distinction matters with Philadelphia hosting Milwaukee on Saturday before visiting Detroit on Sunday.
LeBron James Faces Uncertain Status Against Bucks

James, who turns 42 in December, has already acknowledged that the Sixers must be careful with his workload.
“There’s been conversations,” James said Thursday when asked about the back-to-back, according to PhillyVoice. “We’ll manage it properly to see what the weekend looks like.”
The four-time NBA champion played 33 minutes in Philadelphia’s 114-106 victory over Cleveland on Thursday.
He finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals as the 76ers erased a 29-point deficit.
James has started both games alongside Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and Embiid, giving Philadelphia an imposing collection of offensive talent.
Still, maintaining his availability over an 82-game schedule will require careful decisions.
Saturday could provide the first example.
Joel Embiid’s Back-to-Back Decision Adds Intrigue

While James remains questionable, Embiid appears available against Milwaukee.
The former MVP previously confirmed that he won’t play both games this weekend.
“I’m not playing both games,” Embiid said after Thursday’s victory. “I’m playing one of them.”
He stopped short of identifying which matchup he would play.
However, his absence from Saturday’s injury report suggests Philadelphia could have its starting center against the Bucks.
Embiid delivered 24 points against Cleveland, helping fuel a remarkable comeback.
Meanwhile, Maxey has carried much of the scoring burden through two games.
He scored 28 points in Tuesday’s 106-100 victory over New York before pouring in 32 against the Cavaliers.
If James sits, Philadelphia will lean even more heavily on Maxey’s playmaking and Brown’s scoring.
Three More 76ers Ruled Out Against Milwaukee
Philadelphia’s injury concerns extend beyond its biggest names.
Barlow remains sidelined with a lower back stress reaction. The forward has yet to make his regular-season debut.
Fall is out with a left quadriceps strain, while Hukporti remains unavailable because of a ruptured right Achilles tendon.
Wade, meanwhile, continues recovering from a left ankle sprain sustained during the preseason.
His questionable designation leaves open the possibility of making his Sixers debut.
The absences could create additional opportunities for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jabari Walker, particularly if James doesn’t play.
Philadelphia enters Saturday at 2-0, while Milwaukee has dropped its first two games.
The Bucks are also playing on consecutive nights after Friday’s loss to Chicago.
For Nurse, the challenge is straightforward: Keep the 76ers winning without asking too much of their veteran stars.
The team’s final injury decisions will offer an early indication of how Philadelphia intends to strike that balance.
