The Atlanta Falcons are pretty set at running back with former first-round pick Bijan Robinson leading the charge. He’s an absolute stud on all three downs and the Falcons certainly aren’t looking for an upgrade.

But, that doesn’t mean you can’t improve your depth. On Tuesday, the Falcons signed former UFL standout Jashaun Corbin of the San Antonio Brahmas. Pro Football Newsroom broke the news:

“BREAKING: The Atlanta #Falcons are signing @XFLBrahmas RB Jashaun Corbin, per league source,” James Larsen tweets. “Corbin led the #UFL in rushing yards (514), with 4 TD’s to his name. Was one of the most electric playmakers in Payton Pardee’s offense. First official #UFLToNFL signing in 2025.”

The Brahmas weren’t very good this season, but that doesn’t matter. Team success is nice, but this is really a league where players can showcase their talents and hopefully catch on with an NFL team. And that’s what happened here for Corbin. While the Brahmas only won one game all year, Corbin was definitely dynamic.

He’s the first player from the UFL to latch on with an NFL club this year, which is pretty amazing considering he joined the Brahmas this year as the third-string running back. He barely even made the UFL and now he’s looking at being in the Falcons’ training camp.

Corbin had a solid year in 2025

Hopefully, Jashaun Corbin really loves football, because he could be playing a lot of it in 2025. If he’s able to make the Falcons’ final roster (anyone’s guess if that happens), he’ll have played a full calendar year’s worth of pigskin.

Starting as the team’s RB3, Corbin gained playing time with injuries to Anthony McFarland and John Lovett and played the lion’s share of the second half of the season.

Daniel Flick of Sports Illustrated details Corbin’s season with the Brahmas.

“Corbin led the UFL in rushing yards this season,” Flick writes. “He started six of his 10 appearances, taking 97 carries for 514 yards and four touchdowns. Corbin averaged 5.3 yards per carry, second-most among all qualifying rushers. He added 18 receptions for 138 yards and returned 11 kicks for 252 yards with a long of 33. He only fumbled once.

“The 24-year-old Corbin is the first UFL player to sign with an NFL squad since the UFL’s season ended June 14. He was officially placed on the league’s transaction list Monday.

“Corbin, who stands 5′ 11″ and 203 pounds, attended Texas A&M and Florida State University. He capped his four-year college career with third-team All-ACC honors for the Seminoles in 2021.”

This isn’t Corbin’s first trip to the NFL

Corbin was an undrafted rookie free agent out of Florida State University back in 2022 with the New York Giants. With Saquon Barkley already functioning as the team’s entire offense, there wasn’t a lot of opportunity for him there. He spent the year on the practice squad and then was released before the start of the 2023 season. He was then scooped up by the Carolina Panthers.

Larsen sort of predicted his success in early May when he suggested the Brahmas give him more burn with the injuries to the other two running backs.

“Said before the game that someone was going to have to step up for the @XFLBrahmas, with Anthony McFarland inactive,” Larsen tweeted on May 9th. “How about Jashaun Corbin? He’s been absolutely incredible tonight. 57 yard TD gets San Antonio right back in it. #UFL”

But, the real question remains, “what is a Brahma?” Guess in the comments…or just Google it.
