It’s not uncommon for fan allegiances to change over the years.

Pop star Taylor Swift was a Philadelphia Eagles fan for most of her life until she started dating Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce back in 2023.

Now, Swift is arguably the most recognizable Chiefs fans (sorry, Caitlin Clark) and she shows up to nearly every home game to support them and her fiancé.

If Swift can reverse course, then certainly others can too. Which is exactly what Buffalo Bills fans are arguing on social media after an awkward moment was created thanks to star quarterback Josh Allen’s wife Hailee Steinfeld.

Steinfeld’s 2016 Broncos Tweet is Going Viral

Prior to dating, and then marrying Allen, Steinfeld was a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos.

So it’s no surprise social media was in an uproar on Wednesday night when an old tweet of Steinfeld’s, in which she’s decked out in Broncos gear dabbing at a game, went viral just days before Allen’s Bills play the Broncos in Denver in the divisional round of the playoffs with a trip to the AFC Championship Game on the line.

“HELL YEAH BRONCOS!!!! 💥 @starterofficial #SUPERBOWL,” Steinfeld tweeted back on Feb. 7, 2016.

While Steinfeld’s Broncos fandom is nothing news, it certainly seemed to create quite the divided between the two team’s fan bases on X.

“You know who she will be secretly rooting for on Saturday 😏,” one Broncos fan joked.

“Josh Allen’s wife is a Broncos fan? 🤯😳,” another remarked.

“Josh Allen’s wife is one of us 😏,” a third Broncos fan rejoiced.

“At least she’s a Bills fan now 💙❤️,” a Bills fan replied.

“Josh Allen been staring at this tweet all week,” a second posted.

“DELETE THIS NOW,” a third Bills fan scoffed.

“She rooting for her Broncos in her heart , but she repping Bills for her Hubby,” one user pointed out.

Bills Underdog Heading Into Denver

The opening betting line for Saturday’s Bills-Broncos game initially favored Buffalo, but the line has now shifted and Denver is a slight 1.5-point favorite.

For context: the Bills were 1.5-point underdogs to the No. 3 seed Jacksonville Jaguars last week in the wild-card round but pulled off a 27-24 win thanks to a Superman-esque performance from Allen, who threw for 273 yards, rushed for another 33 yards, and scored 3 total touchdowns.

While many Broncos fans are talking smack on social media about being favored, several Bills fans have been quick to point out Buffalo’s dominant playoff performance against those same Broncos just last year.

The Bills won 31-7 in their wild-card clash, and they dominated in every facet.

Buffalo outgained Denver 471 yards to 224, it doubled up on first downs (26 to 13), it averaged more than a full yard more per play (6.5 to 5.3), and time of possession was fully in Buffalo’s favor (41:43 to 18:17).

Allen also went off in that game, totaling a combined 318 yards (272 passing, 46 rushing) and scoring 2 touchdowns. Star running back James Cook also had a monster day, rushing for 120 yards and a score.
