After Buffalo Bills defeated the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football, they take on the New York Jets in Week 2

Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Co. traveled to the Meadowlands for the AFC East showdown on Sunday, September 14. During the first quarter, Allen gave Bills Mafia a huge scare, taking a nasty pop to the face from Jets defensive tackle Michael Clemons.

Backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky took over while Allen made his way to the sidelines, clearly in pain. Slo-mo video showed the league’s reigning MVP taking a punch to the nose while rushing the ball.

The CBS broadcast showed blood gushing from his nose while trainers attended to him. Luckily, Allen didn’t remain out for long. After they got the bleeding under control, Allen went right back into the game.

CBS Sports analyst Tracy Wolfson revealed Allen was “bleeding profusely with a team of doctors surrounding him.” After adding some cotton in his nostril, “He’s back out there and good to go.”

After the next drive, he started icing his nose and is expected to keep icing it throughout the game. Wolfson also noted that he’ll likely get an X-ray after the game.

It goes without saying that any injury to Allen would be a massive blow to Buffalo, a team looking to win its first-ever Lombardi Trophy this season. Hopefully, the 29-year-old superstar recovers quickly without any lingering issues.

Bills QB Josh Allen Spoke Highly Of The Jets’ Defense Before The Week 2 Matchup

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Allen made it clear that he was not sleeping on the Jets‘ defense. Even though they allowed Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to go off with 244 yards and four touchdowns last week, it’s a small sample of their abilities.

“They got some absolute studs on this defense,” Allen said. “Obviously their front is really solid. They get after the quarterback really well. They work together really well. And their front end and the back end are working in unison right now.

“So we’re going to have our hands full… we only have one game of tape, so we gotta trust our base rules and be prepared for whatever they can throw at us.”

Ed Oliver

As for Buffalo’s defense, they didn’t look great in Week 1. Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver seemed to be the only one who could slow down Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry, finishing with a sack, six tackles, two quarterback pressures, and five stops.

However, Oliver suffered a subsequent ankle injury and won’t suit up against New York. “It’s unfortunate, you know, things happen, come up through practice ,and he got stepped on, friendly fire type of deal,” McDermott told reporters

“It wasn’t intentional. It was normal practice, and, unfortunately, he got stepped on. But an opportunity for somebody to step up early in the year here and show us what they’ve got.”

The Bills defense is also without cornerback Taron Johnson, who’s dealing with a quad injury.
