The Buffalo Bills kick off the 2025 NFL season against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen is ready to take his first official snaps of the year after not participating in preseason games for the first time in his career. In an exclusive interview with Allen before Buffalo’s season opener at Highmark Stadium, the league’s reigning MVP told me he was unfazed by head coach Sean McDermott’s decision.

“A different offseason than I’m used to, but going back to last year, I think only played two series anyway, so it wasn’t like it’s this huge discrepancy. Just looking forward to Week 1 [on] Sunday,” Allen said.

The last time Buffalo faced Baltimore was during the AFC Divisional round, during which the Bills narrowly won 27-25. After the 2025 schedule was announced, Ravens All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith sent a warning to Allen and the Bills.

“That’s how you start the season off, and that’s gonna set the tone for the entire season,” Smith told NFL Network. “Revenge is best served as a cold dish. It will be nice to get up to Buffalo and get a little payback for those guys from the end of the year.”

When I asked Allen about Smith’s comment, he couldn’t help but smile. “Love Roquan,” he said. “Met him in Portland [around 2020] and got to hang with him. He’s a very, very good football player. Very intense.

“He’s kind of Mike Singletary-ish, you know, this menacing guy on the opposite side of the football. Absolute stud. And yeah, I mean, we’re going out there, we’re competing. So, it’ll be fun.”

Bills QB Josh Allen Revealed He’s At His Lightest Weight In His NFL Career

Entering his eighth season in the NFL at age 29, Allen is much more conscious of his conditioning and how to fuel his body. “We’ve transitioned in the weight room to a more quarterback-specific training program. I think that’s kudos to our strength staff and a guy by the name of Jason Oszvart, who’s been the quarterback lead. He’s done a great job.”

“Eating-wise, just making sure I’m taking in good food and good quality food. And I’m actually probably at the lightest that I’ve been since I’ve been in the league,” the 6-foot-5 quarterback revealed. “I’m not doing that intentionally. I’m just working out hard and eating right, and I think my body is finding its nice little zone right now.”

Allen had the best quarterback rating (74.8) of his career last season. He finished with 4,269 total yards, 41 total touchdowns, and just 8.0 turnovers. However, he plans to be even better in 2025. When I asked Allen what he’s looking to improve on, he wasn’t sure where to start.

“I think I had more critiques this last year than I’ve had of any year in my entire life,” he said. “There were so many easy passes, starting my eyes and my feet in the wrong spot. I know it was a great year, and you know, I eliminated the turnovers, that’s the No. 1  key right there (to winning more games).

“But actually going through the film last year is just like, why are my eyes starting over here?… So, yeah, we’re gonna continue to keep working. There’s lots of room to grow.”

Josh Allen Is Helping Launch Snickers’ First-Ever Dipping Sauces Before The Bills’ Season Opener

Hours before the Ravens-Bills showdown on Sunday, Allen is helping launch a limited-edition trio of dipping sauces made with Snickers: Chocolate Barbecue, Peanut Teriyaki, and Caramel Buffalo.

While the sauce flavors are wildly unusual, Allen proudly gave his stamp of approval. “Honestly, they’re for chicken or potatoes, your starches. They’re for dipping, dunking, drizzling. They’re not like a marinade that you want to soak something in.

“They sound crazy,” Allen admits, “but I promise if you were to taste them, your mind would be blown. The Peanut Teriyaki is my favorite personally. I’m a huge buffalo sauce guy. And the Caramel Buffalo is fantastic, but that Peanut Teriyaki is actually one of the better things I’ve ever tasted in my life. Hand to Bible, I will swear on it, like, I was so surprised when I tried them.”
