It’s the NFL offseason, so it means the haters must be coming out in full force for Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix.

The latest salvo against Nix came from Fantasy Football guru Matthew Berry, who put Nix at No. 14 in his “Way Too Early” positional rankings on NBC Sports.

The problem ends up being not so much that Nix is at No. 14, but who he was placed behind — a group that includes Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (No. 4), Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (No. 8), New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart (No. 9), and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray (No. 13).

Daniels is coming off a season in which he missed 10 games due to injuries, and the Commanders went 5-12.

Dart went 4-8 as a rookie in 2025. Lawrence has a 35-42 record as a starter through his 1st 5 seasons. Perhaps the most galling was Murray, who went 2-3 in 5 games in 2025, hasn’t had a winning season since 2021, and was released by the Arizona Cardinals before signing a 1-year, $1.3 million contract with the Vikings.

“Matthew Berry has Kyler Murray ahead of Bo Nix in his 2026 QB rankings,” Sleeper NFL wrote on its official X account, followed by the popcorn and big eyes emojis.

“It seems like the disrespect has continued onto year three for Bo Nix,” Sleeper Broncos wrote on its official X account. “A fact that people hate: Bo Nix is a Top 10 QB.”

It begs the question of why Nix continues to garner these kinds of slights despite having established himself as 1 of the NFL’s all-time great winners through his 1st 2 seasons.

Bo Nix’s Ankle Injury Being Taken Into Account

There’s the possibility that the fractured ankle Nix suffered in an overtime win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round was being taken into account, but that doesn’t really pass the sniff test.

Despite all the back-and-forth and unnecessary subterfuge from the Broncos over Nix’s recovery timeline, there have been zero reports that he’ll miss time this season.

Nix, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, has missed just 1 game in the last 2 seasons — a 10-7 home loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, in which Nix would likely have been the difference in the Broncos making it to the Super Bowl.

Nix has led the Broncos to consecutive playoff appearances in his 1st 2 seasons after the franchise missed the postseason for the 8 years before his arrival.

“Who do you think the most OVERRATED Quarterback in the NFL is??” Pats Planet wrote on its official X account on May 6. “People are going to come at me … but to me it’s Bo Nix, and it’s not even close. I think that injury is going to also derail the development he’d have going for him. Expecting a BAD season for Bo in 2026.”

Bo Nix Continues to Set NFL Records

Nix was the last of a record-setting 6 quarterbacks taken in the 1st round of the 2024 NFL draft and has gone about breaking NFL records through his first 2 seasons:

  • 1st QB with 20+ wins, 7,500+ passing yards, 50+ TDs in 1st 2 seasons
  • Most wins by NFL QB in 1st 2 seasons (24)
  • Most game-winning drives by QB in 1st 2 seasons (10)
  • Most comeback wins by QB in a single season (12)
  • 1st QB with 2 rushing TDs & 2 passing TDs in 1 quarter
