The Las Vegas Raiders are 3-4 ahead of the October 31 NFL trade deadline and it remains to be seen if they’ll be buyers or sellers. The team has some valuable players who could garner some interest around the league but it doesn’t look like they’re going to send any of their top players away, according to The Washington Post.

Jason La Canfora has spoken to NFL executives and he believes that star defensive end Maxx Crosby and wide receiver Davante Adams are going to stay put.

“Defensive end Maxx Crosby would fetch a ton in return, though executives I spoke with doubt he or top receiver Davante Adams will be dealt,” La Canfora wrote in an October 24 column. “But the Raiders would love to shed receiver Hunter Renfrow’s $6.5 million salary.”

This information isn’t surprising as there’s been no indication that the Raiders were shopping either player. However, it does further show that the team is committed to its two best players. This season appears to be heading off the rails but Crosby and Adams could be part of turning things around in the near future.

Las Vegas Raiders Are Telling Teams They Won’t Trade Davante Adams

Davante Adams is 30 now but still playing at a high level. He is 10th in the NFL with 46 receptions and 11th in the league with 528 yards. He’s been putting up stats with subpar quarterback play.

However, the fact that he’s getting older could be an issue for a Raiders team that seems far away from contending for a Super Bowl. Regardless, Las Vegas has already made it clear they won’t be trading him, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“The Las Vegas Raiders have informed teams around the NFL that they are not trading Davante Adams before the Oct. 31 deadline, regardless of how unhappy the star receiver is with the offense, league sources told ESPN,” Schefter wrote on October 21.

“The Raiders have made it clear to teams that they are not interested in moving on from Adams, even if the All-Pro is open to a trade, according to sources.”

The Raiders will hold Adams for now but anything could happen this offseason if the team finishes with another bad record.

Hunter Renfrow on His Way Out?

While the Raiders have gone out of their way to make it clear that Davante Adams isn’t getting traded, the same can’t be said for Hunter Renfrow. It appears that his days in Las Vegas could be numbered. He has a limited role in the offense and has made just eight receptions all season.

This is a player who had 103 receptions in 2021 so there are likely teams out there that could get more out of Renfrow. The Raiders have other slot receivers in Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker so there’s no reason to hold onto the former Pro Bowler.

That said, the Raiders likely would’ve traded him already if they could find a team that wants him. If Las Vegas does end up trading Renfrow, it’s highly unlikely they get much in return. At this point, it seems like the team just trying to get off of his contract. Renfrow has proven to be a good player in the past so there could still be a team willing to give him a chance.
