The Los Angeles Rams barely got past the Carolina Panthers in their wild-card matchup, but a win is a win in the playoffs. The Rams will now turn their attention to their upcoming divisional round matchup against the Chicago Bears, and ahead of this game, star wide receiver Davante Adams shared a surprising message to the rest of his teammates.

After spending the first eight seasons of his career with the Green Bay Packers, Adams is on his third team in the past four years. While he enjoyed individual success with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets after leaving the Packers, those teams didn’t win much, even with Adams at their disposal, leading the veteran pass catcher to issue a strong warning to his teammates.

Davante Adams Does Not Hold Back on Feelings for Raiders, Jets

During his time with the Packers, Adams gradually turned himself into arguably the best wide receiver in the league. From 2017 to 2021, Adams earned five straight Pro Bowl selections and back-to-back All-Pro First Team selections in 2020 and 2021. However, he eventually ended up forcing his way out of town, resulting in him landing with the Raiders.

While Adams put together another All-Pro campaign in 2022, things quickly spiraled out of control with Las Vegas, resulting in him forcing his way to New York in 2024. Once again, though, things did not pan out as expected for Adams there, leading to him quickly departing over the offseason, as he signed with the Rams in free agency.

Adams turned in another productive season, as he caught 60 passes for 789 yards and a league-leading 14 touchdowns in 14 games of action. Perhaps most importantly, though, is the fact that Adams is back in the postseason for the first time since his Packers days. When discussing his time in the league with his teammates, Adams took a shot at both the Raiders and Jets, saying that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

“I don’t care what you’ve seen me do, forcing trades and ending up playing with an old friend or whatever the case may be,” Adams said on “The Stephen A. Smith Show.” “I don’t care if it’s a coach that you’ve always really wanted to play for. I always tell them the same thing over at this building. I say, ‘Hey man, it ain’t greener than this.'”

Adams doesn’t necessarily regret his time with the Raiders and Jets, but he’s aware that his decision to leave Green Bay didn’t exactly pan out. While it has led him to Los Angeles, where he has enjoyed a great amount of success this season, it’s fair to wonder if he would have been better off sticking around with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers for at least one more year.

That isn’t what Adams is opting to focus on, though. Instead, he’s looking to find a way to help the Rams get past a challenging Bears team in their upcoming playoff contest. Chicago is a feisty squad, and L.A. is going to need everyone to step up if it intends to move on to the NFC Championship Game. Kickoff for this contest is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
