The Kansas City Chiefs have emerged as a potential destination for former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury. Hill remains a free agent while multiple teams monitor his situation.
Kansas City has a history with Hill, who spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Chiefs. The team also faces changes at wide receiver after injuries affected its depth during a 30-27 Week 4 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Hill’s potential return has created discussion around his next move. While the Chiefs remain connected to the veteran receiver, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is also working with other teams.
Rob Parker Warns Tyreek Hill Against Chiefs Return
Rob Parker urged former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill not to return to the Kansas City Chiefs under any circumstances. Speaking on “Fox Sports Radio,” Parker argued that Hill should remember how the organization handled his contract situation before helping the team again.
“Tyreek Hill, this is a public service announcement for you. Tyreek Hill, hello. I’m not female, but I hope you listen to me, Tyreek Hill. I understand how this goes. He might listen to me then, you know what I’m saying?” Parker said.
“But my point is, don’t go to the Kansas City Chiefs under any circumstance. Do not do it. Do not help the people who had no money for you, who said, thank you for helping us win a Super Bowl. We’ll see you later. Don’t do it. Under any circumstance, you’d be better off going elsewhere,” Parker said.
Parker’s argument focused on Hill’s previous contract situation with Kansas City. The Chiefs drafted Hill in 2016, and he became one of the league’s most productive receivers during his time with the team.
Kansas City ultimately traded Hill to the Miami Dolphins in 2022 after contract-extension talks stalled. Hill then signed a lucrative extension with Miami and continued his high-level production.
Parker also referenced former Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy while explaining his position.
“They did it to Eric Bieniemy. I guess he had no choice because he had no gig, right? So he had to go and get a job or whatever. They put him out. They didn’t give him the opportunity. And then they had to go back to Eric Bieniemy. And now, as years have gone by. Now they need you. Now they want you.”
Parker’s comments represent his view on a potential reunion. They do not confirm how Hill feels about returning to Kansas City.
Chiefs Receiver Injuries Fuel Tyreek Hill Reunion Rumors
Kansas City’s interest in Hill comes as the Chiefs deal with injuries to two receivers. Rashee Rice suffered a hamstring injury during the Week 4 victory, while Tyquan Thornton suffered a dislocated ankle.
The injuries have drawn increased attention around the former Miami Dolphins star. Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has said he plans to negotiate with multiple teams, and the Chiefs are among the teams involved.
Rosenhaus said he anticipates Hill could sign with a team “over the next few days.” Hill has been targeting a potential November return while recovering from the knee injury that ended his 2025 season.
Several Chiefs figures have also addressed the possibility of bringing Hill back. Travis Kelce publicly supported the idea.
“That’s out of my hands, but I know I’d love to have ‘The Cheetah’ back in this building,” Kelce said. “He’s a brother. He’s one of those people who, when he sets his mind to something, he usually delivers.”
Patrick Mahomes also acknowledged the possibility of a reunion.
“I have no idea [if that would happen], but it’d be pretty cool,” Mahomes said.
Still, a return to Kansas City remains unconfirmed. Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is discussing his options with multiple teams as he continues his recovery.
For now, the Chiefs remain one potential destination, while Hill’s agent works toward finding the right opportunity for his NFL return.
