The New England Patriots2026 NFL schedule includes difficult matchups against the Chiefs, Bills and Lions. The Patriots will play five primetime games, including two on Thursday nights and one, the season opener, on a Wednesday.

The full schedule is set to be officially released tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, but leaked information has already given fans a detailed look at what lies ahead for Mike Vrabel’s defending AFC champions. New England also faces a challenging travel slate that includes a Germany game against the Detroit Lions, multiple playoff contenders on the road and a brutal late-season stretch that could define Mike Vrabel’s second season as head coach.

Based on information that has circulated ahead of the official reveal, the Patriots open the 2026 season on the road against the Seattle Seahawks in a primetime rematch of Super Bowl LX, in which Seattle defeated New England 29-13 last February.

Here is the Patriots 2026 Official Full Schedule

Below is the full, official Patriots 2026 schedule, as revealed by Patriots.com

Week 7 Oct. 22 Chicago Bears Away 8:15 p.m.
Week 8 Nov. 1 Miami Dolphins Away 4:25 p.m.
Week 9 Nov. 8 Green Bay Packers Home 4:25 p.m.
Week 10 Nov. 15 Detroit Lions Away 9:30 a.m., Munich

Week 16 Dec. 27 New York Jets Away 1 p.m.
Week 17 Jan. 2-4 Denver Broncos Home TBD
Week 18 Jan. 9-10 Miami Dolphins Home TBD

The stretch from Week 10 to Week 15 looks especially brutal, with the Lions, Bills and Chiefs all within a five-game span. The Los Angeles Chargers and Minnesota Vikings also come within that stretch, neither of which are exactly pushover opponents.

The schedule looks to be a step up in difficulty for a team that benefited from a relatively soft slate last season. According to Sharp Football Analysis, New England carried the No. 1 easiest actual strength of schedule across the entire NFL in 2025.

Viewed in terms of Defense-adjusted Value Over Average, or DVOA, however, the Patriots played the ninth-most difficult schedule, according to FTN Fantasy. Either way, the Patriots recorded a 14-3 regular-season record and a Super Bowl appearance. In 2026, the Patriots drop to the 12th-easiest schedule in Sharp’s win-total-based projections, a meaningful but manageable uptick.

Road Trips Could Take Toll on Patriots

The road slate is where New England will be most tested. The Patriots travel to Seattle to open the year, then face four additional road challenges: at Kansas City on Monday Night Football in Week 15, at the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football in Week 12, at Jacksonville in Week 3, and at Detroit in Week 10 for the international game in Munich, Germany.

At home, the Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2 for the Gillette Stadium opener, then welcome the Green Bay Packers in Week 9 and the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football in Week 14. The Bills appear twice — a road trip to Buffalo in Week 4 and a home rematch in Week 13 — with both games carrying major AFC East implications. New England also faces the Jets and Dolphins twice each to complete the divisional slate.

The Patriots’ full 2026 schedule reveal arrives as expectations continue rising around Drake Maye, Mike Vrabel and a revamped roster expected to compete for a playoff return. With marquee games against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, Josh Allen and the Bills, plus several national TV appearances, New England’s path back to contention now looks significantly clearer — and far more difficult.
